Following in the tradition of men who like their cigars and love their scotch, Gild Hall's bi-level lobby bar is outfitted in rich brown leather with deep red accents. Bound volumes of literature and history line the walls, while an elegant chrome chandelier lights the space.

Throughout the hotel, a classical European sensibility mixes with an American contemporary taste - a harmonious blend that results in a comfortable, luxurious and unforgettable stay.

Food & beverage

Classic meets contemporary at this culinary hotspot where Todd English reinterprets pub fare to bring you the ultimate modern English tavern. The menu features traditional favorites with sly twists, creative small plates, and a full raw bar. The lively bar showcases imaginative house cocktails, an impeccably curated artisan beer selection and an impressive wine list. The upstairs Library Bar will offer full dining, as well as an extensive spirit and cordial menu.

Room information

All rooms feature custom made 400 thread count SFERRA linens, individual temperature control units and two phone lines with speaker and conference capabilities. The bathrooms are replete with bath and apothecary products by Fresh. Entertainment options include a flat screen television, on-demand movie library and an iPod docking station. In-room pantries offer both Dean & Deluca and Eli Zabar's gourmet snacks.

It was located at very convenience place. Not close from shopping district however, we loved it. The bed was very comfortable too.

I didnt like the bathroom door. if I was with my boyfriend it would not be a problem but I was staying with my friend and being able to see him through when he is using bathroom, was not the best part of my holiday!

Location - in the middle of Manhattan, close to Wall Street, South Sea
Port, and Battery Park. Service - staff is very friendly. Free coffee
with donuts every morning. Free access to the Business room with 4
computers with internet and printer. Also Gym, but we didn't have a time
to try it.

The hotel provides free stay for children, which is great, but they
don't give an option with two beds in the room. Also, we lived on
the 9th floor and the noise from the window was terrible, even
though the window was locked. The floor in the bathroom is cold. No
vent in the bathroom.

We enjoyed our room, however it was not the room we booked. When we brought this up with the concierge we were made to feel like it was not their fault ... as if it had been misrepresented on booking.com. No effort was made to remedy the situation or to offer a discount. However, with this one exception, the rest of the staff were wonderful and helpful.

The room is ok, the staff is really helpful. Breakfast was ok, and will be better when the restaurant is opened later this year.

The only thing was the noise of the airco, but got used to that. Better than a warm room.

The staff is helpful

- Too noisy, the ac from the nearby building and the non efficiency of
the double glazing, we just couldn't sleep at night, we had to change
hotel. - the location is too busy, hotel very difficult to find -
eventhough the hotel was renovated recently, you just feel that it's a
very old building, coridor carpet is old...

This was my second stay at this hotel in two weeks. In addition to what I've said in my first review - I would like to highlight how helpful and professional the staff are. It also didn't hurt that I was upgraded to a king suite on this stay.

The thing that really stood out was when the staff physically went to get me a taxi. This was something that I never expected but really appreciated.

Just the fact that the restaurant was not built when I arrived in July. Rest assured, I plan on returning in the future when the restaurant becomes operational.

The rooms are very modern, beautiful and trendy and the hotel staff is excellent! The financial district is very quiet at night, so you'll be able to a good night's sleep. Three subway lines stop really near to the hotel.

If you like to sleep in the middle of the 'buzz' of New York and would like to walk 'home' from, say, Times Square, you would be better of somewhere else. I would definitely consider staying in this hotel again, though.

Hotel Staff's great attitude and manners. At the Lobby, housekeeping etc.

Nothing in particular. A minor problem with A/C the last night. They reacted inmediately. No issue in my opinion.
