In the very heart of the ancient and picturesque city of Lagos, the Tivoli Lagos was created with all the character and charm of a small village.

The 9-building hotel includes gardens, archways, terracotta tile paths and stairways. The design creates a small hotel ambience in each building, heightened by many tucked away air conditioned sitting areas, some containing fireplaces for winter comfort.

A central courtyard contains a large pool and a 4-by-5-metre (12-by-15-foot) children's pool surrounded by a sundeck. A solarium houses a 12-metre (40-foot-long) heated pool and 4-person spa tub. In addition to the listed facilities the hotel's health club contains a tanning room and massage rooms.
Served by complimentary shuttle bus, the hotel's beach club 2 km (1.2 miles) away on a 7 km (4 mile) beach (Meia Praia) comprises a series of thatched-roof buildings, including an open-air restaurant/bar, facing a 14 metre (45-foot-diameter) pool.

Food & beverage

Restaurant "O CANTINHO ITALIANO" offers Italian cuisine.
With an informal atmosphere, and an Italian style of decoration, this is the right place to taste the wonderful gastronomy of Rossini's land.
Open at lunch and dinner time from 13.00h till 15.00h and from 19.30h till 22.00h. Capacity: 70 people.

Restaurant "PÁTEO VELHO" offers Portuguese cuisine.
You will be impressed by the à la carte service in a typically Portuguese atmosphere, where you can try the delicious fresh fish and meat, grilled to a turn. The Páteo Velho has its own terrace, perfect for moonlit dinners, which seats 30 guests and a dining room for another 30 persons. Opening hours: 19.30h to 22.00h (dinner).

LOBBY BAR
In the heart of the Tivoli Lagos, the lobby bar enjoys plenty of natural light, and offers direct access to the gardens, swimming pool and the Lacóbriga restaurant - it is the ideal meeting point. The live music in the evenings makes the perfect setting for your favourite drink, which you can enjoy in these lively and relaxed surroundings.

POOL BAR
A favourite place for a refreshing glass of white wine, or a light lunch, after some laps in the swimming pool and some serious sunbathing.

The Tivoli Lagos offers 324 air conditioned rooms in 9 different buildings up to 5 storeys high. Balconies and terraces are furnished with one or 2 chairs and a cocktail table. Rooms are carpeted or tiled and have fabrics of blue, green or yellow.

Area information

LAGOS
Lagos used to be the capital of the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula, and was the last port before the Portuguese caravelas set off for their long sea journeys, during the Great Discoveries of the 16th century. The old Twon, the Governor's Palace and the old Slaves' Market are attractions not to be missed. Other places of interest are: the Museu Regional, the Pau da Bandeira Fort. The Lagos Marina is the 1st stop over for boats coming in from Western Europe to the Algarve, and is thus much sought after on the way in and out of the Algarve by sea.
Do not miss a trip to the Ponta da Piedade caves. From the Marina de Lagos to the Forte Ponta da Bandeira, you will come across any number of fishermen who will be glad to take you on an unforgettable boat trip.

The 3 hard surface tennis courts of the Hotel Tivoli Lagos are located at the Hotel's Duna Beach Club which is also part of the hotel facilities and is served by free hotel bus.

The location of the hotel being close to the centre of this unspoiled town and the seperate beech complex.

The balcony we this year was far to small there was no room for 2no chairs and a table, we do enjoy sitting out last thing at night.

Not much. The duty manager, however, was very helpful after our
complaints :

.... we were given a room very different to the room we booked.
Complaining at the reception didn't help as they basically gave us a take-it-our-leave-
it option, as no other rooms were available. The rooms have very
different standards, some are dated. The pool was fairly ok. The indoor
pool is a joke. We had to pay for using the fitness facilities which I
feel is a poor show for a 4 star hotel.

The staff are excellent, as is the breakfast, otherwise everything is of a good standard

The layout is confusing, from the reception you go up to the lobby along corridors then down or up in another lift to your room

Town centre location. Breakfasts were good.

Hotel rooms were poor and a long walk with lots of stairs to rooms. I would have expected better for 4 stars.

location of hotel and the hotel was very good.

That we were unable to have breakfast on the day of departure as we had to leave hotel at 7.30 am even though we had paid for bed and breakfast for the three nights.

location.

the hotel is now begining to look a bit tired - could do with a bit of a refurbishment. also lacks amenaties for children.

Location and quality of hotel.

In the middle of our stay the season/rates changed and on 1.4.08 the hotel decided to charge 10 euros per day for the use of the sunloungers around the pool at the hotel's Duna Beach Club.(Those around the pool at the hotel remained free) I believe this is a mistake as all guests simply used the beds on the beach (free) and the beach club was empty.Consequently the pool/snackbar was dead

Lobby was good. situation of the hotel

the room needs deep renovation + maintenance problems (airco). Quality of foods on Breakfast buffet (FI: ham of very low quality / one side eggs cooked in advance & kept hot for very long time --> very poor result

It's location and it's additional facilities like the health club. This came in very handy when it was raining. The buffet breakfast was really nice.

Some of the reception staff were rude and not helpful at all. Paying for the use of the health club this should be included in the price. The food in the bar was not good.
