The memory of the Hotel Aviz and its equally acclaimed Restaurant, which has been frequented from 1930's to 1960's by famous personalities such as Maria Callas, Frank Sinatra and Calouste Gulbenkian, who even made it his home for 13 years, can now be retraced.
The hotel is now situated in a more recent building, but the concept, the timeless style and hospitality, together with some of it's original and priceless pieces of art, have all been maintained.

Food & beverage

With a long lasting history and now back to Lisbon’s city centre, the
Aviz Restaurant is proud to be considered one of the top gourmet
restaurants in Portugal. The restaurant offers intimate luxury and will, once again, serve dishes based on the recipes that earned the restaurant
reputation.
The restaurant is open for breakfast from 7.00am until 10.30am, for
lunch from 12.30am until 3.00pm and for dinner from 07.30pm until
10.30pm.
Located at the ground floor and next to the restaurant, our bar is
the ideal place either for just an enjoyable relaxing moment, or to
keep you updated with the daily newspapers, which you can always find
there.
Open from 7.00 am in the morning to 1.00 am at night.

Room information

The hotel offers 70 rooms, including 14 Signature Suites, 17
Doubles, 28 Premium Singles and 11 Single Rooms.
All the rooms are equipped with a mini-bar, free safety deposit box,
direct phone with voice mail, data port for Internet connection,
cable TV, air-conditioning and a working desk.
The rooms are also equipped with a bathroom with a hairdryer, a bath robe and slippers.

Hotel Aviz**** is located in the city centre, near Marquês de Pombal Square and at 5 minutes walking from downtown Baixa/Chiado.
It is less than 10km away from the International Lisbon Airport and about 15km from Oeiras, Cascais and Sintra.

Fine, cosy hotel in silent city centre. It is conveniently located. The ideal personnel. Qualitative and tasty meal at restaurant. Intelligent lodgers. I Am sorry for my bad English!

It is necessary to organize a zone for smoking. For me absence of an opportunity to smoke became the big problem!

Seize (quite small) of the hotel, its location, its attractive interior and atmosphere.

The 'overbedded' bed,too english, and not suitable in that area of the world.

Very nice staff. Excellent breakfast with champagne and smoked salmon each day. Very close to underground station. Would certainly recommend it. Ate in restaurant last evening which was very good.

Further to walk to city centre than anticipated. Stated 5 minutes, but was more like 15 minutes, but easy to get to by underground. Were told on last evening that we had to pay for use of internet which was suppose to have been free, so did not use it. Was free the previous night. Room reasonable size, if it had not been for a desk, which was too big for the room.

The centrality and the fact that the Hotel is in a quite road.

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel Aviz and we got up-graded to suite which was an added bonus

I got a room for handicapped and asked to be changed but the fropnt desk was unresonsive to my request

It was close to downtown and the metro. The breakfast was very elaborate with a good selection of bread, pastries and fresh fruit.

Their Hispeed broadband connection to the internet was not working.The hotel refused to provide us with an iron for our clothes. We were told to use the hotel pressing service
